Every time I change my Icon pack, upon applying it, I hear the Windows error beep and Icon packager locks up. If I open Task Manager, it is at %49 of CPU usage. I have to kill it there and notice after that , that it doesn't apply all sections checked. Mainly Quick Launch....Any ideas? I have already unistalled and reinstalled through SDC. I am using version 3.10.102(x86)

Yeah....we all know the answer, we just don't want YOU to know.......

Aside the paranoia, is this a pack you put together or a downloaded pack?
on Feb 28, 2006
Ha ha ha....It's all downloaded packs. No packs made by me.

By the way, thanks for answering yrag. I see you in here and respect your knowledge....

I'm shallow enough to be motivated by that...

I hear the Windows error beep

90 billion apps use the same sound...if it is a windows error, you would have seen a prompt, even if you killed IP in taskmgr, it still would have been on your screen. Look in Administrative Tools/ Events.....what does the error(s) say...

Not if it was buried and couldn't clear any windows..it wasn't there

Look in Administrative Tools/ Events.....

Looked there after recreating the problem....nothing

It's the truth....

In IP config, un-check 'Custom Files' and try loading a pack. If it still gives you an error, un-check 'Files' (plus Custom Files) and try it again.

Download and install this: http://www.sysinternals.com/Utilities/ProcessExplorer.html See what it says those processes are (if you still see them after the above changes).

No dice....Those two things showed under application tab in Task Manager

Had it. Used it. Still no info. Only shows IP @ %50 of cpu. Ip does apply most of the icons. It's just a little unnerving that's all. Oh and the sound is not a Windows error tone. It's the "download complete" tone...odd, huh?

Still in the dark.....
